Frequently asked questions
VISIBILITY
How big are your screens?
SKO has two screen sizes to suit different kitchen stations. They are:
– the SKO 700 with 700mm length display; and
– the SKO 400 with a length display of 400mm.
How many dockets can I see on the larger screen?
The SKO 700 screen can fit up to 12 dockets in full visibility. These 12 dockets will be the most advanced dockets on your rail. However, the rail has capacity to hold 500+ dockets and can be accessed at any time by scrolling on the screen.
Can I easily find a docket to priortize such as a bowl of chips or an extra sauce?
Absolutely. New dockets will appear in the ‘NEW’ window which will allow you to choose where the docket should be placed on your rail; whether that’s at the start or the end.
Do I have to constantly scroll to find dockets?
No, you don’t. The SKO screens have been designed to prioritise new dockets. Chefs will not have to search for new dockets as they will be automatically placed in the correct order. If needed, the Meals Summary feature can give Chefs a snapshot of all orders that remain to be cooked and served.
We are doing over 1,000 meals per day with generally 60 dockets on the rails at a time. How would that work with your screens?
SKO screens have the capacity to hold 500+ dockets. Once dockets are served, remaining dockets will automatically flow through to your priority rail. The ‘NEW’ window feature helps drastically your Head Chef on pass to keep track of what dockets should be sent quickly.

RELIABILITY
Are the screens resistant to heat, water, and impacts?
Are there any warranties?
All screens have a 12-month warranty on parts and assembly*.
That said, we have customers who have used their screens for almost 3 years without any faults or concerns.
What is the lead time for repair or replacement?
Depending on your location, it typically takes between 1-3 business days.
However, you could use another screen at a less critical kitchen section to replace the failing one until it is fixed/replaced. This process only takes a few minutes.
Do I lose all my dockets if the network or power goes down?
No. All dockets on the devices are constantly saved with backups. This means no dockets will be lost.

We understand how unpredictable a restaurant environment can be; particuarly at peak times. We’re always here to answer any questions or concerns customers have about using SKO in their kitchens.
SYSTEM PAIRING
How complex is the pairing process with our current systems?
It’s not complex at all! The pairing process is as simple as adding a new printer.
Do I need another POS system?
No, the beauty is, you don’t. SKO receives info from your POS as a printer would.
But here’s where the magic kicks in; SKO automatically organises which dockets should be displayed for each station saving you time and paper waste.
Does it work with QR code apps?
Yes it does. QR code apps send orders directly to the POS which then sends those orders as dockets over to the SKO devices.
Can I still use my paper dockets with it?
Yes. Paper dockets can be used for ease of mind during your trial. Once all set, we recommend going paperless.
INSTALLATION & TRAINING
Where can I install the screens?
The screens can be installed near the pass or fixed on a wall. They will replace your existing docket rails.
How complex is the installation process?
Brackets are clamped onto a stainless steel shelf and data cables from your existing printer/s will plug into the SKO screen/s.
We dare you finding a simpler way than that!
How long does it take to get use to it?
Your team will grasp all the basics from the 1st service. It then typically takes no more than 3 services for Chefs to master it.
But don’t take our words for granted. Check out what Chef Michelle and her team felt from week 1.
